You can view an auction by using your mouse to hover over the desired listing in the auctions list and clicking on the link to the current, pending or old auctions. You must login to bid but you can view an auction without logging in.

If you want to bid and this is your first time at the auction you will need to register first to receive your username and password. To Register select "Register" in the top menu and click "Buy Now" when the pre registration page comes up.

A refundable deposit of $10 is required for registration. When you click the "buy now" button it takes you to a Paypal payment facility and from there to the registration screen. It only takes a minute, well more like 5.

On the registration screen you only have to fill in a few details like your name, address and phone number as the knifemaker needs this information in the event of an auction win. Then press the register button. Your password and user ID will be sent to you by email so it is imperative that you include a valid email address. Email is also the most convenient means of keeping in contact with the knifemakers.

Once registered check your email for a message entitled "Knives.com Auction Registration". You can use the username and password provided in that email to login and bid on your knife. The email will include the following :-

Hi (Username),
Thanks for registering for the knivesauction.com auction!
You can now login to the auction using the following details:

Username: UserId
Password: password

To login select"Login" in the top menu and simply type your username and password as provided by the email you received, into the space provided and press the login button. Now that you are logged in you will notice some new features to the auction.

Note:- The Bid Option is only available when you are logged in. The bidding screen allows you to place your bid amount. Further comments are welcome.

You cannot change your password at the moment. But you can change almost anything else. However if you change your email address please contact your knifemaker so they can change your email address in their records. We have an email change request on the contact page which will alert the knifemakers to your change of address. Your email address is part of your identity so you should make sure that no one other than yourself has access to your emails. Your contact information is available to the knifemakers and the site administrator, but is not available, shared, or sold on to a third party. The auction now keeps email addresses hidden to all on the public side of the auction, except the user. So you can no longer view other users email addresses and they can't view yours. This prevents harvesters from gathering email addresses on the site and ultimately protects auction users from unwanted emails.
